Last week, the chair of the Constitution Committee asked the American Jews not to listen to everything they hear on Israeli or general media about the Israeli legal reform

The point is that there is no alternative that will explain in English the arguments of the majority that supports the reform.

Ziv Maor will try to do so throughout the next few weeks.

The first point Maor talked about is the lack of constitution in Israel which clearly defines the role of each authority.

This is the reason why there are no clear boundaries between the israeli authorities. As a result, over the last 3 decades the Israeli Judiciary gained more and more power over the Israeli democracy.

This is what the legal reform is intended to fix – and it does so in a completely democratic way
